Position Overview:

1. Specialisation in Food Technology
• Teach Food Technology courses, including BTEC Hospitality, IGCSE (Food & Nutrition), and Elements.
• Work closely with the broader Design Technology department to promote interdisciplinary learning.
• Supervise the Food Technology room and technicians, ensuring effective organisation and upkeep.
• Organise and lead extracurricular activities to boost student engagement and interest in the subject.
• Keep abreast of the latest advancements in Food Technology and related areas.
• Use continuous assessments to effectively inform and adjust teaching methodologies.
• Provide regular, constructive feedback to aid in student learning and development.

2. Specialisation in Design & Technology
• Display expertise in Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM), with practical experience using multi-axis CNC machines.
• Show a deep understanding of engineering principles and design processes across multiple disciplines.
• Create and execute engaging lesson plans for the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and assist with IGCSE/BTEC and post-16 courses as necessary.
• Cultivate a classroom environment that encourages student curiosity and exploration, igniting a passion for engineering solutions.
• Offer guidance and support to help students build their skills and confidence in engineering practices.

3. Specialisation in Textile
• Instruct Textiles across various year levels in accordance with the international curriculum.
• Develop and execute creative, inclusive, and hands-on lessons.
• Create schemes of work and effectively assess student progress.
• Incorporate practical skills, design thinking, and digital tools in textile education.

General Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a Bachelor’s degree in any field with a Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Education (PGCE/PGDE).
• Familiarity with the MYP and the essential components of the curriculum frameworks is a plus.
• Newly qualified teachers or those with teaching experience in a recognised educational institution are welcome.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The iPGCE (assessment only) does not meet the qualifications for Teacher Registration status from the Hong Kong Education Bureau, which is essential for teaching at an ESF school.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
