Job Purpose:

The objective is to teach in an inspiring and inclusive manner that fosters independence, enabling every child to achieve the maximum progress possible. This includes developing positive working relationships with all members of the school and the broader community while providing high-quality teaching, effective resource utilization, and enhancing learning standards and achievements for all students.

Responsibilities

Main Duties:

• Deliver lessons that inspire students to excel and attain the best possible outcomes.

• Collaborating with fellow educators to design engaging lessons that satisfy curriculum requirements

• Cooperating with curriculum support staff (where applicable) to foster children's development

Specific Duties:

Teaching and Learning:

• Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Curriculum
• Organize classroom resources and create displays to foster a positive and engaging learning environment
• Plan, prepare, and deliver sessions catering to the diverse ability levels within the class
• Motivate students through enthusiastic and imaginative teaching methods
• Observe and assess students according to school assessments
• Reflect on classroom provisions, taught sessions, and progress made, adjusting the learning environment, planning, and curriculum as needed
• Collaborate with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists, if required
• Ensure that the Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes are integrated throughout the curriculum

Assessment and Data:

• Take responsibility for the progress of a class
• Meet assessment and recording requirements for student development using Target Tracker
• Utilize data from assessments to inform further planning, provision, and intervention
• Provide feedback to parents and caregivers regarding a student’s progress during Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings

Behaviour Management and Duties:

• Adhere to the school’s behavior policy
• Manage classrooms effectively, employing strategies that cater to students’ needs to inspire, motivate, and challenge them
• Maintain positive relationships with students, exercising appropriate authority and acting decisively when necessary within the school environment.
