The opportunity:

We are looking for a passionate and skilled librarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team member who can foster a positive learning atmosphere and is dedicated to enhancing high-quality teaching and learning. Skills and qualities:

• Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Sciences, English, Arabic, or a related area
• Prior library experience is preferred
• Familiarity with online cataloguing systems such as Oliver
• Dedication to student welfare and learning
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity
• Proficiency in Arabic is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Organize and manage the library to foster an engaging and stimulating environment that encourages a love of reading
• Collaborate with teachers to design library lessons and ensure that collections and displays support curriculum themes
• Evaluate resources to confirm that content is age-appropriate and culturally relevant, adhering to school and Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) guidelines
• Manage the lending and returning of books and resources according to school policy
• Create, update, and oversee information resources
• Classify and catalogue new library materials online using Oliver software
• Arrange books using the Dewey Decimal System to maintain an orderly collection
• Conduct information literacy sessions for students
