ABOUT THE POSITION
Under the guidance of the Assistant Superintendent – Indigenous Way of Life, the Instructional Coach is instrumental in fostering the holistic achievement of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit students. This role entails assisting educators throughout Manitoba in the incorporation of Indigenous pedagogies, languages, and cultural practices into their instructional methods.

WHAT YOU BRING
• A Bachelor of Education Degree and a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for one).
• Knowledge of the Mamahtawisiwin Indigenous Education Policy Framework.
• Familiarity with the Manitoba Framework for Learning, encompassing curriculum planning, instruction, and assessment.
• Demonstrated experience in linking curriculum to an Indigenous worldview and land-based learning.
• In-depth understanding of Indigenous history, truth and reconciliation calls to action, and Indigenous knowledge systems, models, and methodologies.
• Experience working collaboratively with Indigenous Knowledge Keepers, Elders, Grandparents, and Community Knowledge Holders.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and other consultants to improve school planning and student success.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• A valid Manitoba driver’s license with the ability to travel, including overnight stays, and flexibility in working hours as required.
• A proven dedication to ongoing professional development.
• Experience in facilitating and delivering professional learning opportunities related to Indigenous Way of Life and Indigenous pedagogy.
• Proficiency in an Indigenous language is considered a valuable asset.
• Competence in various computer applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Teaching experience across all educational levels (Early, Middle, and Senior Years) is also advantageous.
