About This Role

Aldar Education is currently on the lookout for a Head of EYFS (Academic Year 2026/2027) at Al Shohub Private School, as part of our expanding network of owned and operated schools in the UAE.

Al Shohub Private School, which follows a British curriculum, is a co-educational primary school situated in a state-of-the-art educational facility in Khalifa City A, Abu Dhabi. Established in 1999 by Her Highness Sheikha Shaikha Bint Saif Al Nahyan, the school aims to deliver outstanding education in Abu Dhabi. The majority of our students are Emirati, and our institution is firmly rooted in the values of the Emirati community, responding to the aspirations of parents while adhering to the guidelines set by our regulatory body, ADEK.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the academy in realizing its overarching vision and strategic goals, contributing to the targets outlined in the academy's improvement plan and self-evaluation form.

• Adhere to health and safety regulations in the workplace, following all academy policies related to safe practices and equal opportunities.

• Follow the academy's Performance Management Policy, ensuring that challenging annual targets are established, and fulfill the role of performance management reviewer if instructed by the Principal.

• Participate in annual training related to child protection, safeguarding, and health and safety, in addition to any other training deemed necessary for academy improvement or performance management.

• Maintain compliance with the academy's staff dress code at all times, including wearing a photo ID/lanyard.

• Abide by the academy's computer Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) consistently.

• Ensure that relevant and effective schemes of work are created, implemented, and routinely assessed for all year groups and courses, including appropriate provisions for SEN, G&T, and EAL students.

• Guarantee curriculum coverage, continuity, and progression within the department for all students, including those with high abilities and special educational needs.

• Develop and enforce clear policies and practices for assessing, recording, and reporting student achievement.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject along with a PGCE or other teaching qualification.

Minimum Experience:

• At least 6 years of experience teaching the English National Curriculum.

• Prior experience working with students for whom English is not the first language.

• A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to nurturing the whole child.

• A constructive and solution-oriented approach to work.

• A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police clearance.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
