Brighton College Vietnam is seeking to hire an Art, Design & Technology Teacher (Senior School) to join our team in August 2026.
ROLE SPECIFICATION

THE DEPARTMENTS:
Design and Technology:
The Design and Technology department currently comprises three members, including a Head of Department, one Teacher, and two Technicians. Each staff member brings a unique and inspiring background, contributing to a diverse and comprehensive curriculum. The subject is offered throughout the Prep School and up to the Sixth Form. Our well-equipped DT facilities feature a wide array of tools, equipment, and materials, allowing students to design, develop, and prototype innovative products.
Art:
The Creative Arts environment is dynamic and vibrant, encouraging students to express their creativity through various media. Students explore numerous artistic techniques, analyze existing artworks, and create their own unique responses. The team consists of a Head of Department and a technician, with plenty of specialist facilities, including a photography studio, darkroom, and art studios, providing inspiring spaces where creativity thrives.
The successful candidate will teach Art and Design & Technology (D.T) across Key Stage 3 and up to the Sixth Form. They should be enthusiastic and passionate about these subjects, possessing excellent subject knowledge and practical experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•
Act as an ambassador for the College at all times.
•
Manage a teaching timetable, fulfill staff duties as assigned by SLT, and actively contribute to the Co-Curricular Programme by leading a minimum of two activities weekly.
Teaching and Learning
•
Encourage each student to achieve their academic potential through engaging and personalized instruction, tailored challenges, diligent record keeping, and follow-up.
•
Follow and adhere to all College policies, including those related to marking, assessment, teaching and learning, and reporting.
•
Develop and share schemes of work and resources, complying with the agreed formats.
•
Assist in covering for colleagues as necessary.
•
Attend all required meetings and INSET sessions.
•
Prepare, invigilate, and assess internal and external tests and examinations as needed.
Pastoral
•
Take an active interest in each student’s personal and domestic circumstances, fostering their personal and social development.
•
Promote the social, moral, and cultural ethos of the College community.
•
Create a supportive atmosphere by being knowledgeable about and fully adhering to all College policies.
•
Be familiar with the College’s Health and Safety policies and proactively ensure the safety of all community members.
•
Promote exemplary behavior and a responsible attitude among students at all times.
•
Be aware of and act in accordance with all policies regarding child safeguarding.
Professional Responsibilities
•
Instill pride in the College among students through behavior and commitment.
•
Ensure timely and appropriate responses to all communications.
•
Contribute to the College website, social media, and publications as needed.
•
Participate in the College’s Self Evaluation and Development Plan.
•
Build a close partnership with parents, reaching out when necessary.
•
Fulfill any reasonable professional requests from the Head of College and SLT.
