Job Title: Head of PE and Leadership & Service Coordinator
Line Manager: Head of Upper School / Head of Lower School
Purpose of Job
•
Collaborate with the Heads of Schools to advance, assess, coordinate, and enhance the aims and standards of Harrow Chongqing within the PE department and across other departments as necessary. Foster a dynamic and flourishing sports community that reflects the values and strategic objectives of the school.
•
Lead the PE Department on all aspects related to the PE curriculum throughout the school, ensuring that Physical Education contributes to the physical, social, and emotional health and well-being of our students and the broader community. Create pathways for students of all ages and abilities to participate in and grow through various sports and activities.
•
Take charge of all elements of sports provision across the schools and grade levels. Establish a clear strategy aimed at cultivating sporting excellence at Harrow Chongqing while also encouraging participation from students of all abilities in sports for enjoyment, health, competition, and lifelong engagement.

Play a pivotal role in enrolling the school in sporting organizations for collaborative opportunities, such as the Harrow Games.

Oversee the arrangement of school sports fixtures, including organization and staffing to ensure a robust sporting program exists that nurtures the talents of more gifted students, helping them realize their potential.
•
Focus on supporting staff to achieve the highest standards in teaching and learning, being accountable for the curriculum's development, and contributing to the professional development of PE teachers and staff.

Coordinate schedules and trips for Challenge Week, collaborating with the Head of Upper School/Head of Lower School to integrate curriculum components alongside physical challenges.

Empower, inspire, and nurture students, enabling them to excel as independent and accomplished learners who cultivate lifelong values, passions, and competencies. Lead the planning, execution, and assessment of the subject to ensure that all students can fully realize their potential in their studies.

The following responsibilities are not exhaustive and may evolve as the needs of the School change. Flexibility regarding work hours will be necessary. The successful candidate will be expected to take a proactive and leading role in after-school activities, Saturday coaching sessions, fixtures, and to organize and/or accompany sports trips throughout the year.
