About This Role

Job Overview: Established in 2015, Anne Hill International offers international education for students aged 2-13 and has plans to expand its secondary school campus in the near future. Our mission is to provide accessible, high-quality international education, while our vision focuses on cultivating well-rounded, globally aware, lifelong learners.

Currently, our school serves around 350 students from 30 different countries, supported by a dedicated team of 30 educators from various backgrounds.

With the opening of our secondary school campus slated for August 2026, we will introduce a new program based on the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) and Cambridge Lower Secondary, culminating in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). We are proud members of the Council of International Schools (CIS).

Role Responsibilities

We are seeking a Teacher of Business Studies (Year 10) who possesses the professional capability to initiate and grow initiatives within a developing program. Familiarity with IMYC and IGCSE is preferred, though not mandatory.

Additionally, the ability to teach a secondary humanities or social studies subject would be advantageous.

All educators are expected to engage in the pastoral/homeroom curriculum and contribute to after-school activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

Subject Teachers are accountable for the academic development and pastoral care of their students, adhering to the school’s Guiding Statements, curriculum, and policies.

1. Establish high expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge students.

• Create a positive, secure, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages students to take risks in their learning and builds confidence.

• Develop lessons with clear objectives that promote active participation, independence, collaboration, and interdisciplinary connections.

• Consistently uphold high expectations through the cultivation of strong relationships and inclusive practices.

2. Foster ongoing progress and outcomes for every student.

• Gain insights into students to personalize learning, utilizing curriculum sequencing and prior knowledge to facilitate progress.

• Encourage student reflection, responsibility, and a conscientious approach to independent study.

3. Exhibit excellent subject knowledge and curriculum understanding.

• Craft learning experiences that reinforce knowledge, ignite interest, and challenge students.

• Continuously enhance professional skills through ongoing development, applying this expertise in the classroom with a focus on literacy, numeracy, and the importance of scholarship.

4. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons.

• Design and execute purposeful lessons tailored to diverse student needs, including clear objectives, constructive feedback, and evidence-based strategies that foster growth.

• Build strong classroom relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a cohesive, student-centered approach that supports both learning and well-being.

5. Adapt teaching to cater to students' strengths and needs.

• Work with students to establish clear, meaningful goals and modify lessons to suit individual requirements using strategies like differentiation, questioning, active learning, and technology.

• Implement assessment, feedback, and reflection to guide teaching, support progress, and create an inclusive environment where all students feel valued and challenged.

6. Utilize assessment effectively and productively.

• Systematically evaluate student learning through various methods, offering clear feedback that aids improvement and advancement.

• Regularly apply assessment data to inform teaching, guide planning, and ensure that all students reach their full potential.

7. Ensure a high standard of provision.

• Communicate effectively with parents, delivering clear feedback and guidance.

• Prepare and utilize resources tailored to student needs, engaging support staff in planning and instruction.

• Manage time efficiently and conduct academic reporting diligently through updates, reports, and meetings with parents to provide an accurate overview of student progress.

Qualifications and Experience

• A University/College degree in the relevant subject area is preferred.

• PGCE or equivalent qualifications required.

• A minimum of three years of relevant experience is desirable but not essential.

• A proven track record of supporting students from diverse cultural backgrounds and those with additional needs (e.g., English as an Additional Language and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
