We are in search of a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5 Class Teacher and Year Group Leader to become a part of our Upper Key Stage 2 team starting August 2026. This role presents an exciting opportunity to guide teaching and learning in Year 5 while providing high-quality instruction to your own class. As a key player in our expanding leadership framework, the successful applicant will be instrumental in enhancing standards and fostering collaboration within the year group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver consistently high-quality instruction in line with the National Curriculum for England
  • Lead the Year 5 team in planning, assessment, moderation, and curriculum implementation
  • Utilize data and assessment tools effectively to promote progress and enhance outcomes
  • Provide support and mentorship to teachers within the year group, cultivating a cooperative and reflective team environment
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging educational atmosphere for all students
  • Maintain effective communication with parents and caregivers, establishing strong partnerships
  • Participate in whole-school initiatives and assist the senior leadership team
  • Ensure uniformity and excellence in teaching and learning across the year group
  • Promote strategies for behavior management and well-being that align with school policies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed.) or PGCE with QTS
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching in a primary setting (preferably UK curriculum)
  • Previous experience in a middle leadership capacity or readiness to assume a leadership role
  • Comprehensive understanding of the National Curriculum for England and effective pedagogical practices
  • Demonstrated impact on student progress and achievement
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities
  • ADEK approval or eligibility is a plus

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
