About This Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Visual Arts Teacher to deliver outstanding instruction and engaging lessons, projects, and activities for Middle and High School Visual Arts classes, aligning with the IB MYP and Canadian OSSD curricula at the Bilingual European School, as well as supporting Globeducate events and initiatives.

The ideal applicant will possess strong visual arts abilities across various media and techniques and have experience working in 3D.

Teaching responsibilities include:

• Designing and preparing learning activities while guiding students to achieve curriculum objectives;
• Employing a diverse range of instructional methods and resources that cater to student needs and capabilities;
• Encouraging students to utilize both individual and collaborative strategies to develop concepts and ideas;
• Integrating various media, technologies, and tools into the creative process, including digital technologies;
• Instructing students on how to identify elements of art and design and apply them in their creations;
• Enhancing students’ understanding of visual arts and media through art theory and history;
• Cultivating an aesthetic appreciation in students that enables them to make qualitative judgments about art;
• Assisting students in creating a comprehensive portfolio of their artworks;
• Planning, coordinating, and preparing art displays and exhibitions for the school and community;
• Continuously assessing each student's performance;
• Compiling evaluative reports for students;
• Upholding the required standards for classroom management and student behavior.

Education and Experience:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts or an equivalent qualification, with a PGCE or similar qualification being highly desirable; a master's degree would be advantageous;
• Relevant teaching experience tailored to the grade level and subject area;
• Solid understanding of the concepts, activities, and techniques necessary for teaching Visual Arts at the designated level;
• Strong classroom management skills;
• Dedicated to maintaining high teaching and learning standards;
• Adaptable, resilient, and a supportive team player;
• Interculturally aware with well-developed interpersonal skills;
• Highly organized and efficient;
• Able to meet deadlines.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
