About This Role
Location: Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Qingdao, Tongxiang, Yantai, Hong Kong.
We are seeking a dedicated Career and University Counsellor who can provide exceptional guidance both individually and in group settings related to university, career, and academic pursuits. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of global education systems, be bilingual, and exhibit strong communication skills. Key responsibilities also include organizing parent programs and fostering connections with university admissions representatives.
Competencies and Responsibilities
Counsellor Competencies and Responsibilities
• Individual Counselling: Provide outstanding university, career, and academic counselling that is evidence-based, following the guidelines and expectations of our YCYW Career and University Guidance Programme.
• Group Counselling and Teaching: Effectively teach, design, and enhance the Career and University Guidance Curriculum in both classroom and group settings.
• Understanding of International Higher Education: Have extensive knowledge and practical experience related to university systems and application procedures for the UK, USA, Canada, Singapore, Australia, Europe, and Japan.
• Parent Engagement: Develop and implement programs aimed at informing parents about university, career, and academic topics to support their children’s career and academic development and university applications.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively with external partners, including universities and career organizations, to enhance guidance services and create student opportunities. Participate actively in international university and career conferences.
Language Proficiency and Cultural Competency
• Language and Cultural Competency: Fluent in both English and Mandarin, with an understanding and respect for the cultural nuances of both Chinese and Western societies. Exhibit global citizenship by recognizing and engaging positively with cultural differences within the school community.

• Engagement in School Responsibilities: Actively participate in the school’s extracurricular and enrichment programs, contributing to the overall growth and development of the institution.
• Support Other School Initiatives: Assist with school initiatives and responsibilities as assigned by the School Leadership Team.
• Marketing and Engagement: Support School Admissions and Marketing efforts in relation to university and career counselling.
Requirements
Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree or higher from a recognized institution.
Professional Experience:
• Minimum of four years of experience in university guidance, admissions, or a related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in providing career and academic counselling to students.
