We are seeking a dedicated and talented Teacher of Art and Design to join our team for the upcoming academic year. This role presents a fantastic opportunity to make a significant difference within a vibrant and innovative department in our Senior School. The ideal candidate will confidently teach Art up to iGCSE level and possess a genuine passion for engaging students in Art and Design during Key Stage 3.

In this position, you will design and deliver inspiring lessons that cultivate creativity, technical skills, critical thinking, and a profound appreciation of visual culture. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Deliver well-structured and engaging Art and Design lessons that adhere to Key Stage 3 and iGCSE specifications, as well as the school’s academic expectations.


Foster creativity, experimentation, visual literacy, and technical skills through outstanding teaching and learning experiences.


Thoroughly prepare students for both internal and external assessments, including the requirements for iGCSE coursework.


Accurately assess, track, and report on student progress, maintaining high academic standards.


Contribute to the curriculum development and the ongoing improvement of schemes of work, resources, and assessment strategies.


Collaborate with and support colleagues within the Art and Design Department and across the faculty to enhance teaching practices and professional growth.


Employ inclusive teaching strategies that cater to all students, including those with diverse learning needs.


Enhance the creative co-curricular program through clubs, exhibitions, competitions, workshops, and other enriching activities.


Participate in the pastoral care of students, promoting their wellbeing, self-esteem, and a lasting appreciation for the arts.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:


A recognized teaching qualification and a degree in Art, Art and Design, or a closely related creative field.


Experience teaching Art and Design at both Key Stage 3 and iGCSE levels.


Strong subject expertise across various media, processes, and artistic techniques.


A passion for inspiring creativity and helping students discover their unique artistic expression.


Excellent organizational, communication, and classroom management skills.


A reflective and innovative approach, demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional development.


Experience in an international school environment or with international curricula is highly preferred.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
