Aldar Education is seeking a remarkable Teacher of Design Technology (Secondary School) to join Muna British Academy in Abu Dhabi for the academic year 2026–2027.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching and Learning
- Exhibit a strong command of the design technology curriculum, delivering high-quality instruction throughout Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, including GCSE, A Level, and BTEC pathways as appropriate.
- Teach various aspects of design technology at Key Stage 3, with the possibility of specializing in specific areas at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 when required.
- Conduct engaging, well-structured lessons that promote students’ understanding of design principles, creativity, critical thinking, and real-world applications.
- Develop and implement schemes of work that adhere to the UK National Curriculum for KS3 and meet the standards set by examination boards for KS4 and KS5.
- Prepare students comprehensively for external qualifications, including (I)GCSE, A Level, and BTEC design technology qualifications.
- Encourage design inquiry through practical projects, experimentation, and data analysis.
- Provide outstanding guidance and feedback during project work and assessments to ensure students achieve examination standards.
- Create lesson plans and learning sequences tailored to accommodate all learners, ensuring challenges and support for diverse abilities.
- Effectively utilize assessments to monitor student progress, inform instructional planning, and assist students in reaching their potential.
- Foster students’ independence, resilience, and problem-solving skills through hands-on and investigative learning experiences.
- Ensure that design technology classrooms and workshops are well-organized, and that resources and displays create an inspiring and safe learning atmosphere.
- Maintain high standards of safety in the workshop, ensuring students follow safe practices during practical activities.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, including digital technology and blended learning approaches, to boost student engagement and progress.
- Address the needs of all learners, including those with special educational needs (SEN), English as an Additional Language (EAL), and gifted and talented (G&T) students through effective differentiation and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the design technology curriculum, ensuring it remains engaging, rigorous, and aligned with contemporary educational practices.
Assessment, Progress, and Achievement
- Track and assess student progress using data to inform instructional practices and identify students needing further challenges or support.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to help students enhance their design knowledge, creativity, and skills.
