We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Geography Specialist (secondary) to join our esteemed secondary department.

The ideal candidate will be expected to teach across various age groups and abilities, including GCSE and A-Level.

This position is part of our strategic expansion to accommodate growing student enrollment and program demands.

General Professional Responsibilities

The professional responsibilities of a teacher will include the following:

  • Delivering lessons, including planning and preparing courses, setting and grading assignments, and assessing, recording, and reporting student progress in accordance with school policies.
  • Utilizing data to enhance classroom instruction, tracking and monitoring student advancement, and implementing timely interventions.
  • Preparing students for public examinations, assessing them accordingly, recording these assessments, and participating in meetings related to the administration of public examinations.
  • Engaging with parents regarding student progress, including writing reports.
  • Attending Parents’ Evenings and Open Evenings.
  • Maintaining discipline and good order among students.
  • Participating in departmental meetings and Open Evenings.
  • Collaborating as part of a team to shape departmental policies and practices, introduce curricular initiatives, and develop study programs and assessment methods.
  • Contributing to administrative tasks to ensure the department operates smoothly.
  • Staying informed about curriculum innovations, participating in continuous professional development, and contributing to personal professional growth.
  • Working collaboratively with support teachers in the classroom.
  • Taking responsibility for mentoring a beginning teacher, if applicable.
  • Providing assignments for classes in advance of known absences and setting work for colleagues who are absent when necessary.
  • Overseeing a designated curriculum area, administrative task, or project as assigned.
  • Completing additional tasks as reasonably directed by the Head of Department.
  • Familiarizing oneself with the DSIB inspection framework and the standards for outstanding teaching and learning in the UAE.
  • Supporting UAE initiatives and cultural expectations.

The successful candidate must:

  • Hold relevant qualifications.
  • Have experience teaching in British Curriculum school.
