Taylor's International School KL (TIS KL) is on the lookout for a skilled individual to fill the role of Head of Curriculum Support in our Secondary School.

About the Role

We are seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the Head of Curriculum Support position in our Secondary School. The ideal candidate will lead a small team of teachers focused on supporting secondary students with learning difficulties, as well as those for whom English is an Additional Language (EAL).

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Evaluating Special Educational Needs during the admissions process and providing recommendations for required support.
  • Assessing English proficiency upon admission and advising on suitable actions.
  • Leading and managing the Curriculum Support teaching team.
  • Collaborating with the counseling department and safeguarding teams.
  • Ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all classes related to EAL provisions and Special Educational Needs through planning support, classroom observations, and drop-ins.
  • Facilitating professional development for staff and workshops for parents on SEN and EAL.
  • Engaging with external agencies, such as Educational Psychologists, Language Specialists, and other professional organizations regarding students under the CSU department's care.
  • Building a relationship based on trust, discretion, and transparency with students, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders.
  • Handling confidential information in a professional and sensitive manner.
  • Coordinating with the Primary school’s CSU department to guarantee smooth transitions for students moving into secondary education.
  • Assessing students and preparing applications and supporting documents for submission to the examination board.
  • Coordinating special provisions for exam students, where authorized.
