English Teacher (High School Diploma / IBDP)

About the Role

We are in search of a dedicated, student-focused English educator with experience in teaching Grades 6–12, specifically in High School Diploma and/or IBDP English. The ideal candidate will cultivate a passion for literature and language, provide outstanding learning experiences, and uphold the highest standards of achievement, literacy, and eloquence.

You will collaborate within a department that cherishes innovation, reflective practice, and strong connections with students, colleagues, and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instruct English for Grades 6–12, including High School Diploma and/or IBDP courses.
  • Conduct engaging, well-planned lessons that spark curiosity, critical thinking, and a pursuit of academic excellence.
  • Implement effective assessment methods to track student progress and guide instructional planning.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to cater to diverse learners, including EAL and high-ability students.
  • Foster a secure and respectful classroom atmosphere grounded in high expectations.
  • Participate in curriculum development, lesson planning, and resource creation for the department.
  • Maintain clear communication with parents regarding student progress and wellbeing.
  • Contribute to the broader school community, including extracurricular and enrichment activities.
  • Adhere to the school’s safeguarding, health & safety, and professional conduct policies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or English (with a teaching qualification).
  • Valid teaching certification that meets Qatar MOEHE standards.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience, particularly in High School Diploma and/or IBDP English.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment, and effective instructional practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management abilities.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively in an international, multicultural setting.
  • Dedication to continuous professional development and student well-being.
