The Role:

  • Exhibiting extensive curriculum knowledge while being flexible within the English department to teach various curriculum elements.
  • Ensuring that all planning, preparation, teaching, assessment, and reporting processes align with the needs of students and the expectations of the school.
  • Establishing high standards for our students by designing learning activities that adhere to our school's Secondary curriculum and encouraging a learning culture where every achievement is attainable.
  • Fostering a respectful classroom environment that encourages learning through inquiry and discussion.
  • Actively participating in broader school development and initiatives.

The Successful Candidate will Possess:

  • Qualified Teacher Status, along with three to four years of experience in teaching Secondary English and Literature.
  • A strong understanding of effective teaching theories and practices that address the individual needs of all students through classroom organization, differentiation, and varied learning strategies.
  • A PGCE/QTS or a nationally recognized teaching license.
  • A degree in English Language and Literature is preferred.
  • A collaborative mindset and adaptability.

About You:

As someone eager to share your specialized expertise and work collaboratively, you will represent the school’s values as an ambassador. You will be able to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences and contexts, using your skills to build strong relationships with parents and students. You will be capable of quickly adjusting to our dynamic international environment and meeting visa requirements for China, which include holding a bachelor's degree, a clean criminal record, and at least 24 months of teaching experience.
