About The Role

We are seeking an Assistant Principal, Pastoral (maternity cover), who is passionate about showcasing the possibilities within education and holds a strong belief in the potential of every child to be safe, happy, and successful. In this role, you will deliver outstanding pastoral leadership, cultivate character, establish routines, and nurture a deep sense of belonging. You will collaborate closely with the Vice Principal Pastoral, the Principal, and a values-driven Senior Leadership Team. This position is well-suited for an experienced Assistant Principal or an aspiring pastoral leader eager to make a significant difference at KSA.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience in effective middle leadership at a high-performing school, likely in the capacity of Head of Year or Pastoral Leader
• A track record of delivering outstanding pupil progress as both a teacher and a leader
• Experience in leading a high-performing team within a complex school setting

About Us

We are a truly all-through school, with students remaining with us from nursery through sixth form across two sites, just a ten-minute walk apart. This structure provides us with a unique opportunity for a long-term and significant impact on our students' lives, beginning in our primary school, where they develop a passion for learning.

We have a proven history of making a meaningful impact on our students’ lives. Our mastery approach in primary education allows for more time and explicit instruction in the skills and concepts essential for long-term academic success, complemented by a diverse and culturally enriching curriculum that motivates and engages our students. Our specialized teaching model enables students to benefit from expert instruction in PE, music, art, humanities, and science, while allowing all staff adequate time for subject planning.

In September 2019, we merged with Ark Paddington Green Academy to form one all-through King Solomon Academy, with Nursery through Year 4 located at our Younger Years Site (Crompton Street) and Year 5 through Year 13 at the Older Years Site (Penfold Street). In May 2021, we inaugurated a purpose-built nursery for children aged 2-4 years. Our Younger Years Site features ample outdoor space, including a beautiful global food garden and a woodland garden where we conduct Forest School activities for EYFS and KS1. UKS2 pupils enjoy the advantages of sharing a site with the secondary division, which includes access to a large multi-use games area, basketball courts, science labs, and specialized music equipment.
