About This Role

Strategic Leadership of the School:

  • Formulate and articulate a comprehensive strategic vision for the school that aligns with the Group's strategic objectives and targets.
  • Develop both short-term and long-term plans that reinforce the school's mission and goals.
  • Present the school's development plan to the Board for their endorsement.
  • Implement and monitor the school’s development plans to ensure they remain aligned with established goals.
  • Evaluate the school's developmental needs and revise plans accordingly.

Overall Management of the School:

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure the school functions smoothly, efficiently, and effectively.
  • Establish and assess standard operating procedures (SOP) for the school, ensuring they are in harmony with the Group's SOP.
  • Maintain a well-resourced and well-maintained school environment that promotes optimal learning for students and a productive atmosphere for staff.
  • Maximize the use of school facilities and resources to enhance student learning experiences.

Curriculum Management:

  • Direct the school in managing curriculum design, working in collaboration with the Pedagogy team at Headquarters.
  • Supervise the quality, balance, and relevance of academic, pastoral, and extracurricular activities within the adopted curriculum framework.
  • Ensure the school’s curriculum is consistent with other institutions in the EtonHouse Group, facilitating seamless transitions for students.
  • Ensure teaching staff effectively implement the curriculum framework and maintain high pedagogical standards.
  • Support and coach the teaching team in monitoring, assessing, documenting, and sustaining student learning and developmental evaluations.
  • Ensure that authentic and meaningful evaluations of children's learning and development are documented, alongside necessary updates and reports to parents.
  • Safeguard the confidential storage and maintenance of all student records.
  • Ensure an adequate supply of teaching materials and resources to support a high-quality learning environment for young children.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching delivered by staff, ensuring high standards in both teaching and learning.
  • Provide teaching assistance on an ad hoc basis when required.

Staff Management:

  • Inspire, lead, and motivate both teaching and non-teaching staff to cultivate a positive, collaborative, and dynamic school environment.
  • Coach and mentor the team to help them achieve their full potential in performance.
  • Conduct classroom observations, delivering timely feedback and coaching to elevate teaching standards.
  • Set performance and development objectives for both teaching and non-teaching staff and evaluate their performance against these goals.
  • Plan professional development opportunities for the school team based on identified training needs.
  • Collaborate closely with the HR Business Partner to anticipate staffing needs, ensuring sufficient staffing levels.
  • Lead the recruitment and selection process for both teaching and non-teaching positions.
  • Mentor and onboard new staff to ensure a smooth integration into the school culture.
  • Manage staff scheduling, including making arrangements for relief coverage during absences and resources for new programs or classes.

Safeguarding:

  • Guide the school team on all matters related to child safeguarding, prioritizing the safety and well-being of students.
  • Ensure that all staff members recognize the critical importance of safeguarding students.
  • Develop and periodically review safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and adherence.

Student Management:

  • Participate in the admission process for new students.
  • Ensure student records are carefully maintained with all requisite documents prior to admission.
  • Oversee class assignments for students, considering age, friendship groups, previous placements, learning needs, and other relevant factors.
