Mistahi Sipiy Elementary School, situated in Big River First Nation, is seeking a passionate and energetic Physical Education Teacher to join their team for the 2026-2027 school year.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing lesson plans that encompass a variety of subjects
- Evaluating and grading students' comprehension and performance in relation to the curriculum
- Engaging in conversations with students and parents regarding educational topics
- Creating a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that promotes educational growth
- Designing lesson plans and teaching methods that align with school standards
- Conducting assessments to measure student progress and pinpoint areas for improvement
- Establishing an engaging learning atmosphere that caters to the individual needs of students
- Producing lesson plans and educational materials that incorporate various interactive activities such as quizzes, competitions, and group discussions
- Supervising and managing student behavior and classroom activities
Qualifications:
- Exceptional scheduling and organizational skills
- Bachelor of Education degree and a valid Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certificate
- Proficient classroom management abilities
- Capability to teach students with diverse learning needs
- Knowledge of the Saskatchewan Curriculum
- Experience with cross-cultural settings is a plus
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required
- Must be able to provide an acceptable Driver’s Abstract, Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check
- Verification of prior teaching experience may be required (if applicable)
