PASTORAL CARE DIRECTOR – VINSCHOOL
About This Role
Vinschool is seeking a skilled Pastoral Care Director to lead and enrich a comprehensive wellbeing and safeguarding culture within our dynamic K–12 international environment.
This crucial position plays a key role in integrating student wellbeing, safeguarding, and character development into the fabric of school life, making them essential aspects of the educational experience rather than isolated elements.
The Role
As the Pastoral Care Director, you will develop and oversee Vinschool’s holistic pastoral strategy, ensuring uniformity in safeguarding policies, wellbeing frameworks, behavioral systems, and student support services.
Your collaboration with school leaders, counselors, safeguarding officers, and teaching staff will be vital in creating a secure, inclusive, and developmentally suitable learning environment across all campuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive pastoral and safeguarding policies throughout the organization.
- Ensure compliance with global safeguarding standards and best practices.
- Supervise initiatives focused on wellbeing, student support frameworks, and behavioral policies.
- Provide strategic direction and professional development for pastoral leaders, Heads of Year, and safeguarding teams.
- Collaborate with academic and senior leadership to incorporate wellbeing into the curriculum, culture, and daily practices.
- Offer guidance on and manage complex student cases with confidentiality, professionalism, and sound judgment.
We Are Seeking a Leader Who
- Has substantial experience in pastoral leadership within international K–12 environments.
- Demonstrates deep understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and student wellbeing systems.
- Has a proven track record in leading whole-school or multi-campus pastoral or student services departments.
- Understands inclusive education principles and is skilled in culturally diverse school communities.
- Communicates effectively and confidently across various cultures and leadership levels.
- Exhibits a calm demeanor, sound judgment, and a systems-thinking approach to student care.
Qualifications & Experience
- A relevant degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
- Significant leadership experience in international K–12 settings.
- Extensive knowledge of international safeguarding standards.
- Experience in culturally diverse and complex school environments.
