About This Role

GEMS World Academy–Dubai (GWA) is a distinguished private IB World School providing education from PreK through Grade 12. Founded in 2008 and a member of GEMS Education, GWA is authorized to deliver the PYP, MYP, DP, and CP programs, and has received accreditation from both the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

Located in the dynamic center of Dubai, we serve a diverse international community. Our educational philosophy is anchored in the IB Learner Profile, which encourages intellectual curiosity, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a strong sense of community. GWA has earned both national and global recognition for its commitment to enhancing student achievements and fostering an inclusive, aspirational environment.

We are committed to developing curious, reflective, and compassionate learners. With the support of highly qualified educators and cutting-edge facilities, our students gain the knowledge, skills, and character needed to thrive, contribute positively, and help create a better world.

THE ROLE

The Product Design department has been instrumental in enhancing student outcomes and igniting a passion for learning at GEMS World Academy. This achievement is a result of our dedicated staff, their exceptional subject knowledge, and the department's innovative approach to data and curriculum development. The department is highly regarded by students for the personal support and attention it offers.

We welcome applications from motivated MYP/DP Product Design educators who believe their skills, experience, and values align with GEMS World Academy’s mission to foster a love for learning. Positions are available starting August 2026.

SKILLS

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of effective teaching and facilitating student success. While experience with the IB Middle Years and Diploma Programs is advantageous, we also encourage outstanding educators from various curriculum backgrounds to apply. A genuine enthusiasm for working in a non-selective, culturally diverse environment is also important. Additionally, applicants should possess:

  • A Bachelor of Education degree or a relevant initial degree alongside a teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent specialization in Product Design
  • Advanced qualifications are preferred but not essential
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience teaching Secondary Product Design, ideally within an IB curriculum setting, although this is not a strict requirement
  • A solid understanding of the IB MYP/DP framework and Approaches to Teaching is preferred
  • A strong commitment to continuous improvement in practice and delivering outstanding teaching and learning experiences for students
  • The experience, personality, and educational philosophy that resonate with a prestigious IB World School like GEMS World Academy
  • Availability starting August 2026
