GEMS World Academy–Dubai (GWA) is a private, co-educational IB World School serving students from PreK through Grade 12. THE ROLE
Our Business department has made remarkable progress in improving student achievements and fostering a love for learning at GEMS World Academy. This success is due to the commitment of our staff, their remarkable expertise, and the department’s creative approach to data and curriculum development. The Business department is well-regarded among students for its commitment and personalized guidance.
We are seeking passionate MYP/DP Business educators whose expertise, experience, and values align with GEMS World Academy’s mission to inspire a love for learning. Positions will be available beginning August 2026.
SKILLS
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of effective teaching and facilitating student success. While prior experience with the IB Middle Years and Diploma Programmes is preferred, we welcome exceptional educators from all curricular backgrounds to apply. A strong alignment with the IB philosophy and a commitment to the Learner Profile values are essential. A genuine enthusiasm for working in a non-selective, culturally diverse setting is also important. Additionally, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor of Education degree, or a relevant initial degree coupled with a teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent specialization in Business
- Advanced qualifications are preferred but not essential
- At least 3 years of experience teaching Secondary Business, ideally within an IB curriculum context, although this is not mandatory
- Proven experience in teaching Business
- A solid understanding of the IB MYP & DP frameworks and Approaches to Teaching is beneficial
- A strong dedication to continuously improving their teaching practice and providing exceptional learning experiences for their students
- The experience, personality, and educational philosophy that align with a leading IB World School like GEMS World Academy
- Availability from August 2026
