We are currently seeking applications for experienced Secondary English Teachers, with positions commencing in August 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and deliver engaging, inquiry-driven lessons that ignite curiosity, foster critical thinking, and instill a love for learning.
• Cultivate a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that acknowledges and develops individual strengths and accommodates diverse learning styles.
• Tailor teaching approaches to meet the varied needs of all students, including EAL learners, gifted students, and those requiring additional support.
• Utilize technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance student engagement and improve learning outcomes.
• Effectively assess, document, and communicate student progress, using data to inform instruction and provide personalized support.
• Collaborate with peers to develop and enhance curriculum plans, resources, and assessments in alignment with IB standards.
• Engage with the wider school community through co-curricular activities, events, and initiatives.
• Build positive relationships with parents and the broader school community to support student development and wellbeing.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and self-reflection to enhance teaching practices.
• Exemplify GEMS values and the IB Learner Profile in all school-related activities.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A recognized professional teaching qualification at the degree level, such as B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE, or an equivalent in English specialization.
• A minimum of 3 years of significant and verifiable experience teaching Secondary English, preferably within an IB Curriculum School (though not mandatory).
• Familiarity with MYP and DP is preferred but not essential.
• A strong passion for inspiring young learners through innovative, inquiry-based teaching methodologies.
• The energy, vision, commitment, and educational philosophy needed to contribute to the ongoing success of a leading flagship GEMS school with a diverse international student body.
• A commitment to professional development and collaboration within an innovative educational community.
