An exciting opportunity has arisen for a primary Class Teacher to join Hallmoor School.

Hallmoor School is an inclusive, forward-thinking and popular specialist school for pupils aged 5 to 19 years with a range of diagnosis including Severe Learning Disabilities, Autism and Complex Needs.  The number on roll has increased to almost 300 children in recent years with further growth expected. 

The Class Teacher will support school activities where required, including attending educational trips, extra-curricular activities and parents’ evenings, which may require some out-of-hours availability.

The successful candidate will:

• Be passionate about developing children as independent learners and thinkers. 

• Be eager to develop excellent teaching practice and create a learning environment where all pupils can achieve their best. 

• Be committed to making learning experiences memorable and fun.  

• Be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and  able to work effectively as part of a team.  

• Be organised with  excellent IT skills. 

• Use a range of inclusive teaching strategies, visual supports, and positive behaviour approaches

• Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and the wider multidisciplinary team

• Monitor and assess pupil progress in line with EHCP targets

• Actively promote safeguarding

• Hold QTS qualification
