We are currently looking for a skilled education assistant to collaborate with teachers in our primary program. In this role, you will join a dedicated teaching team focused on nurturing the growth and development of young girls in the Junior School. Our approach to teaching and learning is anchored in a student-centered, collaborative framework, emphasizing inquiry-based methodologies to enhance the learning experience for our young learners.

Responsibilities:
● Collaborate with teachers to design engaging programs tailored for primary classrooms (Grades 1-3)
● Provide support to individual students and small groups who need extra assistance throughout the school day (including areas such as social, emotional, executive functioning, and academic support)
● Assist students as specified in their Individual Education Plan (IEP) or School Based Support Plan (SBSP), taking direction from the classroom and learning resource teachers
● Work together with educators to develop support strategies that address the specific needs of individual students
● Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and behavior to identify triggers, patterns, and effective interventions
● Attend regular meetings with the educational team to discuss student learning
● Help foster an inquiry-based learning environment
● Assist teachers with specific tasks and responsibilities as needed
● Prepare instructional materials and create visual displays for the classroom
● Supervise students during transitions, lunchtime, and outdoor play
● Participate in our after-school care and co-curricular activities
● Support school events such as the Public Speaking event, Sports Day, and concerts

Qualifications:
● Bachelor of Education/Education Assistant Certificate/Diploma or equivalent preferred
● 1 - 3 years of experience working with children in an educational environment
● Familiarity with supporting diverse learning needs, grounded in research and best practices for inclusive classrooms (e.g., ADHD, ASD, sensory and regulation needs)
● Experience in documenting student behavior
● Background in supporting early literacy and numeracy skills
● Understanding of the learning preferences of young girls
● Proven ability to be innovative, adaptable, and highly organized with a keen attention to detail
● Strong collaborative skills
● Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities
● Effective time management skills
● Enthusiasm, dedication, and a willingness to engage in the co-curricular program and the diverse life of the school community

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
