About the Role

Aldenham Prep School Riyadh is on the lookout for an exceptional and passionate Teacher of Science to provide high-quality instruction across Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9).

The ideal candidate will be a skilled general science educator, proficient in teaching Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, with a dedication to sparking curiosity, fostering scientific thinking, and nurturing a love for learning among all students.

This role presents an exciting chance to make a significant impact at a developing British international school and to play a pivotal part in enhancing our KS3 offerings, paving the way for future transitions into KS4.

Key Responsibilities


Teaching & Learning
• Create and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics for KS3
• Cultivate a solid understanding of scientific principles, inquiry skills, and hands-on investigations
• Employ diverse teaching methods to accommodate all learners, including EAL students
• Uphold high standards for student achievement, behavior, and involvement

Curriculum & Assessment
• Implement the British curriculum in accordance with National Curriculum guidelines
• Effectively prepare students for their transition into GCSE sciences
• Design and execute both formative and summative assessments
• Monitor, track, and report on student progress in alignment with school policies

Practical Science & Safety
• Organize and conduct safe and effective practical science lessons
• Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols in the science lab
• Encourage scientific inquiry through experiential learning

Pastoral & Wider School Contribution
• Serve as a Form Tutor (if needed), aiding students’ academic and personal growth
• Engage in the broader school community through clubs, trips, and enrichment activities
• Foster positive relationships with parents and the school community

Collaboration & Professional Development
• Collaborate with colleagues within the Science department and across the school
• Participate in departmental planning and the development of the curriculum
• Engage in ongoing professional development and performance evaluation processes

Person Specification

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in a Science-related discipline
• Recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
• Experience teaching KS3 Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
• Strong subject knowledge in all three areas
• Capability to deliver engaging and effective lessons to a diverse student body
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Desirable

• Experience in a British international school setting
• Familiarity with preparing students for GCSE sciences
• Ability to contribute to extracurricular STEM initiatives (e.g., robotics, science clubs)
