Develop and implement engaging, customized lessons in IB Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) and General Science (including Cambridge Lower Secondary Science, as needed).
•
Promote a thorough understanding of environmental systems, sustainability, ecosystems, biodiversity, resource management, and the human impact on the environment.
•
Establish a stimulating and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages inquiry, discussion, and critical examination of environmental issues.
•
Link scientific principles to real-world environmental challenges such as climate change, conservation, sustainable development, and global citizenship.
•
Incorporate practical investigations, fieldwork experiences, data analysis, and inquiry-based learning methods.
•
Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to facilitate both academic and personal development.
•
Participate in curriculum development, ensuring that content aligns with international standards and remains up-to-date and relevant.
•
Encourage student involvement in extracurricular activities such as environmental clubs, sustainability programs, and science enrichment opportunities.
•
Cultivate a respectful, supportive, and inclusive classroom culture that prioritizes student well-being.
•
Establish strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to enhance learning and development.
•
Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to school initiatives, events, and mentorship programs.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
•
A degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Geography, Education, or a related discipline (teaching qualification preferred).
•
Experience in teaching IB Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) and/or General Science, or similar international curricula.
•
A strong passion for environmental education and the ability to inspire students to critically analyze sustainability and global challenges.
•
Proficient skills in facilitating inquiry-based learning, discussions, and interdisciplinary thinking.
•
Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities.
•
Experience in an international or multicultural setting (preferred).
•
Strong command of English and a clear dedication to student well-being and safeguarding.
