About This Role

Job Description

Institut Le Rosey is a co-educational boarding IB World School with a dual-language curriculum (English and French) serving over 400 students across two distinct campuses. To cultivate students' technological skills and passion, we are looking to hire an enthusiastic and innovative Technology Coach (100%) starting September 2026.

About the role

The Technology Coach role focuses on delivering engaging, high-quality instruction and coaching to students at various levels, enhancing their technical capabilities through a combination of practical, investigative, and theoretical approaches. The TC will possess extensive knowledge in technology, igniting student curiosity and creativity in both hands-on experiences and academic pursuits.

Main responsibilities

Designing, implementing, and assessing technology-focused activities, lessons, and projects during academic sessions and activity periods for all our Academic Sections (ages 8 to 18).

Playing a vital role at the crossroads of education, technology, engineering, and innovation, guiding students in two esteemed international competitions: biotechnology (iGEM) and mechanical/electrical engineering (Shell Eco Marathon).

Offering office hours to assist students and faculty with technology initiatives, as well as managing tasks like organizing labs and equipment, overseeing inventory, preparing for technology projects, writing reports, grading internally, and packing equipment during campus transitions.

This position also involves some curriculum development and the design, delivery, and coordination of innovative cross-disciplinary projects throughout the academic year.

Moreover, the TC should actively promote a Technovation mindset among both staff and students. They will also collaborate with industry and academic experts to foster a network that supports the school's technology education objectives.

Ultimately, the individual in this position should excel in innovation, demonstrate curiosity and forward-thinking, willingly test new concepts, view mistakes as learning opportunities, and exhibit flexibility and resilience during challenges.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in STEM teaching or coaching.

Confidence in leading advanced STEM competitions and projects.

Familiarity with a diverse array of school technology tools (3D printers, laser cutters, CNC mills, Arduinos, VR and AR technologies, simulations, and educational robotics such as LEGO Mindstorms and VEX, CAD).

Knowledge of commonly used programming languages (e.g., Python) and the O365 suite.

Capability to define clear teaching objectives and outline effective delivery and assessment methods.

Ability to craft age-appropriate tasks that challenge, engage, and motivate students.

Competence in collaborating with and supporting colleagues to ensure the effective sharing and utilization of technology resources for the benefit of the school community.

Capacity to think independently, adapt swiftly, and manage complex, multidisciplinary projects from conception to execution.

Strong project management abilities.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

In-depth understanding of Design Thinking principles.

A teaching qualification with a degree in Design & Technology would be advantageous.

An engineering background would be a significant asset.

Professional working proficiency in English; a working knowledge of French would be beneficial.

Benefits

Le Rosey operates as a boarding school, and the position is likely to be residential. Previous experience in a boarding environment is preferred. We offer:

A competitive salary.

A residential role with rent-free housing and meals (in exchange for an active role in boarding life).

A generous Professional Development budget to further your career.

A supportive and vibrant community of educators and learners.

All applications must be submitted through TES by 27/04/2026 and should include: a statement of interest (illustrating personal and professional attributes), a CV or résumé, and the names of three referees (compiled into a single PDF).

Due to recent changes in Swiss law, obtaining work permits for non-EU citizens has become quite challenging for international institutions like Le Rosey. Therefore, applicants without EU passports or Swiss work permits should be aware that this may affect their chances of being shortlisted. Nevertheless, we will carefully consider all applications, and if the nature of the position and the quality of the application give us hope for a successful outcome despite the lengthy administrative process, we are prepared to pursue it.
