About This Role
Socrates Educa International School, situated in Salou to the south of Barcelona, has the capacity to accommodate up to 800 students. This inclusive institution provides a comprehensive education for children aged 1 to 18+. It is the inaugural school to adopt the Socrates Educa model, an innovative educational framework that is expected to be introduced in future schools.
Our vibrant and joyful trilingual school offers a curriculum in English, Spanish, and Catalan, providing Pre-school, Primary, Secondary, National and International Baccalaureate (IB), as well as the US High School Dual Diploma, all with a strong international focus. Additionally, Chinese is offered as a foreign language. The curriculum is rooted in the local educational standards but is significantly enhanced by the influence of a diverse teaching staff, with instruction primarily conducted in English.
We provide an extensive array of extracurricular activities, foster community partnerships, and host various educational and cultural events, including a noteworthy annual university fair. Our sports, music, and cultural initiatives are integral to the school experience.
We are seeking a Secondary teacher with experience in both the national and International Baccalaureate programs for the upcoming academic year, commencing in September 2026.
Ideal candidates will be collaborative team members who are innovative and creative, skilled in differentiating instruction, adept at integrating technology into learning, and excited about working in a multilingual setting. Familiarity with the Catalan and/or Spanish curriculum will be an asset.
Requirements for all applicants:
- Proficiency in English, capable of delivering lessons entirely in authentic English.
- A passion for teaching technology, inspiring students of all levels within the classroom.
- Strong ICT skills (experience with Mac/iPad and knowledge of educational applications).
- Bachelor of Education / PGCE / Secondary QTS (BEd / SCITT / School Direct / Teach First) or an equivalent qualification.
Preferred:
- Experience teaching Secondary IB and Bachillerato / ESO for students aged 12-18.
- IB training and experience or a willingness to undergo training.
Highly beneficial:
- Experience with UCAS / D of E.
- Familiarity with the Spanish ESO / Bachillerato curriculum.
- Knowledge of Spanish and Catalan languages.
