We are on the lookout for a passionate and highly skilled Teacher of Chemistry to join our team for the upcoming academic year. This is a thrilling opportunity to be part of our Science Department, where you will deliver exceptional lessons and motivate students throughout the Senior School. It is essential that applicants can teach Science (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in a combined course) for Years 7 and 8. We particularly encourage candidates who can also teach either Biology or Physics at the iGCSE level, in addition to Chemistry up to IBDP.
In this role, you will provide stimulating Chemistry lessons that cultivate scientific curiosity, analytical skills, and practical laboratory abilities. Deliver engaging and well-structured Chemistry lessons that align with Key Stage 3, iGCSE, and IB Diploma Programme standards, as well as whole-school academic expectations.
•
Teach combined Science (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) to students in Years 7 and 8.
•
Encourage scientific inquiry, analytical thinking, and practical lab skills through high-quality teaching and learning.
•
Prepare students thoroughly for both internal and external assessments, meeting iGCSE and IBDP requirements.
•
Accurately assess, monitor, and report on student progress, upholding high academic standards.
•
Contribute to the development of the curriculum and the continuous enhancement of schemes of work, resources, and assessment practices.
•
Collaborate with colleagues in the Science Department, promoting effective pedagogy and ongoing professional development.
•
Implement inclusive teaching strategies that cater to students of various abilities, including those with diverse learning needs.
•
Enrich the science co-curricular programme through clubs, competitions, fieldwork, and other enrichment opportunities.
•
Support the pastoral care of students, fostering their wellbeing, resilience, and enthusiasm for scientific learning.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
•
A recognized teaching qualification and a degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific field.
•
Experience teaching Chemistry at the iGCSE and IBDP levels, as well as combined Science for Years 7 and 8.
•
Capability to teach either Biology or Physics at iGCSE level alongside Chemistry.
•
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students to appreciate and understand science.
•
Exceptional organizational, communication, and classroom management abilities.
•
A reflective and innovative mindset, with a dedication to ongoing professional development.
•
Experience in an international school setting or familiarity with international curricula (highly desirable).
