About This Role
Role Summary
In this position, you will instruct MYP Sciences with a focus on Physics and DP Physics through inquiry-based learning, hands-on experiments, and practical applications in the real world. Your role will involve fostering scientific reasoning, data analysis, and problem-solving skills among students.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement cohesive MYP and DP units that adhere to IB standards and assessment guidelines.
Facilitate safe and meaningful laboratory experiences while cultivating students' abilities in data gathering, interpretation, and evaluation.
Oversee DP Internal Assessments, ensuring investigations are ethical and authentic.
Utilize low-stakes quizzes and constructive feedback to enhance student retention and prepare them for exams.
Work collaboratively on vertical alignment, laboratory resources, and STEM-related extracurricular activities.
Qualifications & Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Physics or a closely aligned discipline along with a teaching qualification or license is required.
Preferred qualifications include experience with IB MYP and DP, as well as familiarity with MYP eAssessment and DP examinations.
Proven ability to engage a diverse range of learners through inquiry-based approaches and practical physics applications.
A strong dedication to lab safety, safeguarding measures, and inclusive teaching practices.
