We are looking for upper primary teachers who will guide students through this pivotal phase of developing both academic and social-emotional competencies. Our ideal candidates will create engaging, technology-enhanced learning experiences that are project-based and foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

The Characteristics of an ISHCMC Educator:

We seek a reflective and inspiring teacher who aligns with our school’s mission and the IB philosophy. The perfect fit is someone who is enthusiastic about student-centered, inquiry-based education and is committed to nurturing the holistic development of each child in an international context.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Learning
• Develop engaging, meaningful, and inquiry-focused learning experiences that spark curiosity and creativity.

• Support each student in reaching their full potential through challenges, reflection, and encouragement.

• Seamlessly incorporate critical thinking, problem-solving, and digital learning into daily practices.

• Utilize data and documentation to guide planning, evaluate progress, and celebrate achievements.

Learning Environment
• Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom culture grounded in respect and collaboration.

• Advocate for Universal Design for Learning (UDL) strategies and foster learner agency.

• Promote dialogue, collaborative knowledge construction, and exploration driven by curiosity.

Pastoral Care and Wellbeing
• Foster students’ social-emotional development through nurturing relationships and active involvement in pastoral activities.

• Encourage engagement in creativity, activity, and service initiatives.

• Exemplify empathy, resilience, and integrity in all interactions.

Professionalism and Collaboration
• Show commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the broader school community.

• Participate in school life beyond the classroom by contributing to extracurricular programs and events.

International Mindedness and Communication
• Embrace cultural diversity and global perspectives in all teaching and interactions.

• Communicate positively, clearly, and respectfully with students, families, and colleagues.

Safeguarding
All staff members share the responsibility for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our students. Teachers are required to adhere to the school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and must promptly report any concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Cognita Schools are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff, volunteers, and third parties to uphold this commitment.
