GEMS World Academy-Dubai (GWA) is a private, co-educational IB World School serving students from PreK to Grade 12. THE ROLE
Our Psychology department has significantly improved student outcomes and ignited a passion for learning at GEMS World Academy. This success is attributed to the staff’s dedication, exceptional subject expertise, and a progressive approach to data and curriculum. The department is well-respected by students for the personalized support and care it provides.
We are currently seeking a creative IB DP Psychology teacher to become part of this thriving team starting August 2026.
SKILLS
The ideal candidate will have a proven history of effective teaching and supporting student success. While experience in teaching the IB Middle Years and Diploma programs is preferred, we encourage outstanding teachers from any educational background to apply. It is essential to align with the IB philosophy and embrace the values of the Learner Profile. A genuine enthusiasm for working within a non-selective, culturally rich community is also important. Additionally, the following qualifications are required:
• A Bachelor of Education degree, or an initial degree complemented by a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent specialization in Psychology
• Advanced qualifications are desirable but not mandatory
• At least 3 years of experience teaching Secondary/High School Psychology, ideally in an IB curriculum setting, although this is not a strict requirement
• A solid understanding of the IBDP framework and Approaches to Teaching is preferred
• A strong commitment to continually enhancing their teaching practice to provide exceptional learning experiences for students
• The experience, personality, and educational philosophy that align with a leading IB World School like GEMS World Academy
• Availability starting August 2026
