Role purpose:
This position involves delivering classroom instruction and educational practices to promote student learning by preparing and presenting effective lessons, while providing opportunities for all students to learn and progress.

Key Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with colleagues to create high-quality lesson plans.
- Design engaging and interactive learning experiences centered on lessons.
- Deliver instructional content utilizing subject-specific materials.
- Support students based on their individual needs, adjusting for varying abilities.
- Establish strong, lasting relationships with students in your classes and throughout the school to foster high levels of learning.
- Share teaching methods with peers and actively participate in a professional learning community focused on enhancing learning quality school-wide.
- Maintain high expectations, operating under the belief that all students can surpass their current capabilities.
- Prepare classrooms by organizing and setting up necessary equipment for student learning.
- Monitor inventory and procure learning supplies as needed.
- Assign and evaluate student projects, assignments, and exams.
- Record and report on student progress.
- Encourage student participation in maintaining classroom cleanliness.
- Attend faculty and other required school meetings.
- Support students during school hours and after-school activities.
- Provide additional educational support during school and after hours as needed.
- Contribute to the HAIS monthly publication, HAISLife.
- Engage in ongoing personal and professional development.
- Assume responsibility for tasks assigned by the Principal, Vice Principal, or Learning Leads.
- Embody the values of Hoi An International School.

Pastoral / Student Well-being:
- Engage with parents regarding academic and pastoral matters, including follow-ups on student reports and parent-teacher meetings, and support school calendar events.
- Assist in the school’s pastoral and support systems aimed at enhancing student well-being.
- Develop and implement pastoral programs and initiatives that are specific to the sector and school-wide.
- Serve as a point of contact for students and provide pastoral care to those assigned to you and the school community.
- Design and deliver teaching approaches that effectively address the personal, social, and academic needs of students.
- Ensure an inclusive atmosphere for students within the classroom and the wider school.
- Cultivate positive relationships and attitudes towards all students and staff throughout the school.
- Be aware of how your pastoral care practices impact students, the school, peers, and the broader community.

Essential criteria:
- A minimum of a university degree accompanied by a recognized teaching qualification.
- At least three (3) years of recent classroom teaching experience.
- Proven experience teaching at the Early Years level.
- Highly proficient English communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Ability to establish a high level of trust with students, parents, and fellow educators.
- A readiness to actively participate in the school’s extracurricular activities.

Desirable:
- Experience in an international school setting.
- Recent experience in academic and pastoral leadership.
- Knowledge of teaching English as an additional language (EAL).

Employment requirements:
If the selected candidate is engaged internationally, a mandatory requirement is the submission of legalized and authenticated copies of identification, qualifications, experience, and probity documents as mandated by HAIS and relevant local/national government authorities. The successful candidate must also meet probity requirements, which include providing suitable reference checks, undergoing national and local police checks, and, where applicable, completing Work with Children Checks.

Compensation

$2,400 - $2,600 per month (Work pemit/Visa covered and sponsored School holiday Sick Leave, etc)
