Discovery Schools Academy Trust

Grade: Grade 10 Pay Point 23-26 ( Pending Support Staff Pay Awards Uplift 2026-2027)

Location: Based at Central Corporate Services- Beaumont Leys Leicester. Will also work within Discovery Schools.

Hours: 37 Hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday

About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Technical Phase Lead to join our friendly and forward-thinking team, to aid us in moving our technical provision forward and support the delivery of teaching and learning and related admin functions.

The role will lead on assigned services ensuring they meet our strategic goals and deliver the required support for schools and the central services team.

We are looking for someone that has:

  • Educated to at least ‘GCSE’ standard with English and Maths at level C or above. Equivalent qualifications will be acceptable.
  • Commitment to personal professional development.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Able to demonstrate understanding of relevant and current technologies employed in schools.
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience of managing Office 365.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver technical services across assigned schools in line with the IT service strategy, supporting teaching, learning and administration.
  • Line manage and develop technicians, providing coaching, CPD and performance support.
  • Oversee infrastructure, network configuration, device policies, and system resilience to ensure high availability and security.
  • Lead and deliver IT projects, ensuring timely delivery, effective stakeholder communication and clear reporting.
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and third‑party suppliers to ensure service quality and SLA compliance.
  • Champion best practice in IT service management, security, safeguarding and continuous improvement.
