About This Role

  • Qualified Teacher Status and successful experience in primary education.
  • A strong track record of improving early reading, literacy and language outcomes for children.
  • Significant experience of Read Write Inc. Phonics and supporting its implementation in schools.
  • Experience of coaching, mentoring and training teachers, teaching assistants and school leaders.
  • Secure knowledge of systematic synthetic phonics, reading development, vocabulary acquisition, language development, fluency and comprehension.
  • Experience of supporting literacy improvement across schools or leading whole-school literacy development.
  • An understanding of effective implementation and evidence-informed practice.
  • The ability to analyse performance information and identify priorities for improvement.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with leaders and staff across multiple schools.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • A commitment to improving outcomes for disadvantaged pupils, pupils with SEND and those at risk of falling behind.
  • A commitment to the mission, values and Catholic ethos of SJCMAT.
  • The ability to travel regularly between Trust schools.
  • Compensation

    £30,000 - £46,525 (MPS/UPS Scale)
    *Estimated range based on regional data averages.
