About This Role

Adcote Matrix International School (AMIS), a well-established international institution, is situated in Seremban, Malaysia, just a 45-minute drive from Kuala Lumpur, the capital city. Head of Person Specification

We are seeking an exemplary candidate who possesses substantial recent experience in a leadership position within a boarding school, both in the UK and internationally. The ideal applicant should exhibit personal and interpersonal skills, along with a genuine passion for fostering a nurturing and supportive atmosphere that caters to the diverse needs of our boarders. Key qualities we are looking for include:

  • A B.Ed or equivalent degree, along with a postgraduate teaching qualification.
  • Previous training or experience in a school environment.

Role of the Head of Boarding

The Head of Boarding will report directly to the Head of the International School and will oversee the House Parents responsible for the students' welfare. This role includes coordinating a variety of activities designed to enhance the boarding experience.

The Head of Boarding is required to live on campus in accommodation provided by the school, ensuring that the boarding house is organized, welcoming, and professionally presented. This position entails supporting students, managing staff, and ensuring the well-being of those in their care. We are looking for professionals who possess:

  • A strong work ethic and professionalism.
  • Patience and a solid grasp of children’s psychology.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Relevant experience in the childcare sector.
  • The capacity to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Education Requirements:

  • A B.Ed or equivalent degree.
  • Relevant training or experience in a similar field.
