Who we are looking for:

• Key Qualifications: SENCo certification or SEND-specific qualifications (particularly with a speech and language focus) are highly desirable.

• Proven Experience: Expertise working with a wide range of SEND needs—especially communication and interaction—along with desirable experience in SEND leadership.

"Children get off to a strong start in the Reception Year. There are high expectations and clear routines. Children learn how to play alongside one another, share, take turns and wait with patience. This is modelled effectively by staff. Children have the opportunity to explore, take risks and learn through play. There are high-quality spoken interactions between adults and children. This supports children’s early language and communication development. The school prioritises reading. The phonics programme is delivered effectively. Pupils learn how to read new words by blending the sounds they have learned. Pupils’ reading books are carefully matched to the sounds they have been learning. • Experienced Teacher
• Experience of leadership in a SEND role desirable
• Experience of working with pupils with a range of SEND needs, particularly communication and interaction
• Experienced in running a SEND provision
• Experience working with SEND pupils - EYFS/KS1
• Highly organised and able to set clear priorities in managing their workload
• Able to communicate clearly and positively with staff, parents and pupils, both in person and in written communications
• Able to work calmly under pressure
• Able to show a 'can-do' attitude and seek solutions to problems
• Able to work flexibly and creatively
• Happy, co-operative and able to work independently
• A strong team player
• A person who demonstrates excellent initiative
