Job Type: Full-Time initial contract of two years (arising from parental leave).

Position Summary:

At Thuringia International School, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional teaching and learning experiences that adhere to the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework, specifically within the Middle Years Program (MYP) and Diploma Program (DP). Your role involves collaboratively creating and executing engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, and offering timely, constructive feedback to support students in becoming proactive learners who contribute positively to society.

You will prepare students to complete the MYP and DP Programs equipped with a critical understanding of the Nature of Mathematics and the necessary skills to actively engage in their academic, professional, and community endeavors, enabling them to interpret, utilize, and assess data effectively.

Qualifications and Previous Experience:


A degree and teaching qualifications recognized by the State of Thüringen’s education authorities.


Experience in teaching and a clear comprehension of the responsibilities associated with the role.


Fluency in spoken and written English.


Familiarity with the IB curriculum, particularly MYP and DP.


A record of ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities:


Design and implement captivating and effective lessons in alignment with the IB curriculum framework, ensuring the comprehensive development of students consistent with the school’s Mission and Vision and our definition of High Quality Teaching and Learning.


Deliver structured instruction that accommodates diverse learners, encouraging critical thinking, inquiry-driven learning, and interdisciplinary connections, while nurturing a global perspective and the capacity for positive impact.


Evaluate and assess student performance through the administration and grading of assessments, assignments, and examinations, adhering to IB assessment standards and reflecting the school's dedication to critical thinking, creativity, and self-efficacy.


Provide timely, actionable feedback that clearly communicates the next steps for student improvement.


Create an organized and respectful classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and well-being, where students are inspired to reflect creatively and insightfully, recognize real-world applications of their learning, and collaborate empathetically.


Collaborate with the Student Support team to provide tailored support to students, including those with diagnosed learning or language needs, ensuring their educational requirements are met and they can think and act critically, rationally, creatively, and independently.


Work together with other educators, teaching assistants, and school staff to enhance teaching and learning, aiming to improve overall educational outcomes.


Utilize available IT and AI resources efficiently and guide students in doing the same, while upholding academic integrity and properly attributing sources.


Engage in school meetings, professional development, training sessions, and any information and parent conferences scheduled throughout the academic year.


Maintain open and effective communication with parents through our chosen digital platform, keeping them updated on their child's progress and any obstacles they may encounter.


Participate in school events and engage with the local community as a representative of ThIS to promote the school’s values and Mission.

Compensation

43.000 € - 63.000 € per year (Salary includes medical, insurance and pension contributions. Education for two children free of cost, but a taxable benefit.)
