About This Role
The Position
The Director of Global Literacy will report directly to the Executive Principal through Academic Management.
The successful candidate will oversee a team of specialized subject educators, which is anticipated to expand significantly as enrollment numbers rise. This individual will be tasked with advancing the subject across all educational levels within the School. Strong organizational abilities are essential, along with a passion for teaching that is energetic, innovative, and exemplary. A commitment to diverse teaching methods and alignment with the School's goals is also required.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Academic management
• Instruction
• Tutoring and Pastoral Care
• A distinguished degree focusing primarily on the relevant subject;
• A formal teaching qualification may be beneficial;
• A keen interest in ongoing training and professional growth;
Skills and Experience:
• Ability to teach the subject proficiently and confidently to students aged 11-18 (Chinese Grades 6 to 12), staying current with developments in the subject area;
• A readiness to meet the needs of students for whom English is a second language is essential;
• Proficiency in ICT and strong computer skills, with the capacity to quickly adapt to new systems and processes, particularly regarding the SchoolPal system, which also serves as our Virtual Learning Environment;
• Competent and organized administrative skills;
• A strong willingness to contribute to the extracurricular offerings of the School is highly valued;
• An eagerness to assist the Admissions and Marketing teams is crucial;
• Relevant experience in teaching, examining, or the commercial sector will be considered advantageous.
