Whole School Support Coordinator
Summary
At BFIS, we recognize that every student arrives with a unique profile of strengths, needs, and challenges. The Whole School Support Coordinator provides strategic leadership to ensure that all students can access learning equitably and thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Through the development and implementation of a robust, whole-school Response to Intervention (RTI) model, the role ensures that student needs are identified early, monitored consistently, and supported through evidence-based practices. The position bridges learning support, BML (Bilingual and Multilingual Learners), and school counseling, ensuring that student voice and wellbeing are central to decision-making. The Whole School Support Coordinator works closely with the Associate Head of School, Heads of Division, teaching teams, and leads the Learning Support, BML, and Counseling departments from Nursery through Grade 12. The role has responsibility for whole-school systems, staff and parent education, and compliance with IB access and arrangement requirements.
Directly reports to: Associate Head of School
Skills and Requirements
Recognized teaching qualification with postgraduate qualifications in learning support, special education, counseling, psychology, or a related student services field.
Eligibility for certification or accreditation in a relevant student support role.
Demonstrated leadership experience in student support services in international or IB schools (Nursery–Grade 12).
Strong knowledge of inclusive education, intervention models, and wellbeing frameworks.
Collaborative, empathetic leader with high intercultural competence.
Strong communication skills with students, staff, parents, and external professionals.
Commitment to staying current with educational research, professional practice, and emerging trends in student support.
As part of the wider leadership team, and given the nature of the role, attendance at meetings, school events, and completion of tasks outside normal school hours will be required. This expectation is reflected in the higher compensation associated with the position.
