Big River First Nation is seeking a dedicated student services specialist to strengthen the education team for the 2026-2027 academic year. This position encompasses overseeing the Special Education teaching staff while working closely with both students and teachers.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Provide academic guidance and support to students
· Coordinate orientation programs for students
· Assist in the enrollment and registration processes
· Develop and implement strategies aimed at improving student retention
· Offer counseling and support for both personal and academic challenges
· Serve as a liaison between students and faculty
· Address and resolve student concerns and obstacles
· Foster learning, personal development, and community engagement.
Requirements:
• Excellent scheduling abilities
• Bachelor of Education degree and a Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certificate
• Ability to instruct students with varied needs
• Knowledge of the Saskatchewan Curriculum
• Experience with diverse cultural backgrounds is advantageous
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
• Capability to provide a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract and a Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check
• Must be able to furnish proof of prior teaching experience (if applicable)
