The Position - SENCO (Whole School)
This is a remarkable opportunity for an individual with the necessary qualities, skills, and experience to join our team and help establish Downe House Riyadh as the leading girls' school in Saudi Arabia.
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and proactive SENCO to head our Special Educational Needs department. The role entails developing and managing individualized education plans (IEPs), offering direct support to students, and guiding staff in implementing inclusive learning through adaptive teaching strategies.
The ideal candidate will not only be knowledgeable in SEN best practices but will also demonstrate an understanding of the cultural context of the Kingdom, ensuring effective and respectful support. With a practical mindset and a genuine commitment to fostering each student’s development, you will contribute to a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. - Develops and implements individualized education plans (IEPs), ensuring a balanced, relevant, and supportive curriculum for all students under their care.
- Sets high expectations, inspiring pupils with SEN to reach their full potential while nurturing resilience and confidence.
- Provides compassionate and effective pastoral care, recognizing the unique needs of each pupil.
- Manages the Learning Support Team, offering direction and opportunities for their professional growth.
- Maintains strong communication with parents, fostering effective collaboration between school and home.
- Actively participates in the co-curricular program and whole-school initiatives, promoting a sense of community.
- Collaborates supportively with all staff, ensuring open communication with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
- Demonstrates a flexible and positive approach, with a sincere commitment to going above and beyond for pupils with SEN.
