Role Purpose:
The main focus of this role is to provide classroom instruction and educational principles in alignment with the Cambridge Mathematics curriculum, facilitating student growth through effective lesson planning, presentation, and management of classroom activities, along with assessments for IGCSE and A Level.

Key Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with peers to develop high-quality lessons and learning frameworks.
- Create engaging and interactive lessons that inspire students.
- Offer instructional guidance based on the relevant curriculum and subject-specific resources.
- Differentiate support for students according to their unique needs and varying abilities.
- Foster strong, enduring relationships with students to promote enhanced learning outcomes.
- Share teaching strategies with fellow educators and actively participate in a professional learning community dedicated to improving overall learning quality.
- Uphold high expectations for all students, motivating them to surpass their current capabilities.
- Prepare the classroom by organizing and setting up necessary resources for student learning.
- Monitor inventory levels and obtain learning supplies as needed.
- Assign, evaluate, and provide feedback on student projects, assignments, and exams.
- Track and report on student performance and progress.
- Promote student participation in maintaining classroom cleanliness.
- Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the Cambridge Teaching Standards.
- Attend faculty and pertinent school meetings as necessary.
- Assist students during school hours and in after-school extracurricular activities.
- Provide educational support to students during and after school as required.
- Contribute to the HAIS monthly magazine, HAISLife.
- Engage in personal and professional development opportunities.
- Take on tasks assigned by the Principal, Vice Principal, or Learning Leads.
- Embody the values of Hoi An International School.

Pastoral / Student Well-being:
- Communicate with parents regarding academic and pastoral matters, including follow-ups on student reports, parent-teacher meetings, and school calendar events.
- Support the school’s pastoral and support systems designed to enhance student well-being.
- Develop and implement sector-specific and school-wide pastoral programs and initiatives.
- Act as a point of contact for students, providing pastoral care to those assigned to you and the broader school community.
- Create and execute teaching strategies to effectively address the personal, social, and academic needs of students.
- Ensure an inclusive atmosphere for all students in the classroom and throughout the school.
- Foster positive relationships and attitudes toward all students and staff members across the institution.
- Be aware of your pastoral care approach and its impact on students, the school environment, colleagues, and the wider community.

Essential Criteria:
- A minimum of a university degree accompanied by a recognized teaching qualification.
- At least three (3) years of recent classroom teaching experience.
- Proven experience teaching at the Secondary level.
- Familiarity with Cambridge Education methodologies.
- High proficiency in English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to build a high level of trust with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Willingness to actively participate in the school’s extracurricular programs.

Desirable:
- Experience in an international school setting.
- Recent leadership experience in academic and pastoral roles.
- Knowledge of teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL).

Employment Requirements:
For international candidates, it is a mandatory employment requirement to provide legalized and authenticated copies of identification, qualifications, experience, and probity documents as requested by HAIS and local/national governing authorities.
The chosen candidate must satisfy probity conditions, which include appropriate reference checks, a national and local police check, and relevant Work with Children Checks.
