About This Role

The Opportunity

Downe House Riyadh is currently inviting applications from individuals interested in potential teaching positions for the Academic Year 2025-26.

Downe House Riyadh commenced operations in September 2022, marking the establishment of the first premium British private all-girls' school (Boys Pre-School-Year 4) for students aged 3-18 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The launch of a new educational institution is always an exhilarating event, and as we approach our third year, Downe House Riyadh delivers a world-class curriculum. Our authentic partnership with Downe House UK continues to flourish, building on over a century of success from one of the UK's most prestigious all-girls' schools, which consistently ranks among the top five in its category.

Situated in the northern part of Riyadh within the esteemed Aqeeq neighborhood, Downe House Riyadh offers a curriculum thoughtfully tailored for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, enabling our students to excel in Arabic language and Islamic Studies alongside other subjects. The school operates within the framework of a UK independent school, and we expect active engagement and a positive approach towards co-curricular activities from all our staff.

It is our intention to interview shortlisted candidates based in the UK at Downe House UK on either January 3rd or 4th.

The Position - Primary Class Teacher (KS2)

We are on the lookout for a passionate and dedicated Primary Class Teacher who is eager to establish solid foundations in core subjects such as Mathematics, English, Science, and Humanities. In this role, you will be instrumental in nurturing students' curiosity, enhancing critical thinking, and instilling essential skills that support their long-term academic success, all aligned with the Downe House DNA Values.

With many of our students learning English as an Additional Language (EAL), you will employ strategies that facilitate language acquisition while promoting academic progress, ensuring all pupils can engage with and flourish in the curriculum. While specialist teachers cover Ministry of Education subjects, you will deliver a comprehensive and balanced curriculum, utilizing innovative and adaptable teaching methods to cater to diverse learning needs. If you are committed to fostering a love for learning, building confidence, and guiding students through their early educational journeys, we welcome you to join our dedicated team.

- Maintain high expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge students, promoting a growth mindset.
- Ensure outstanding pastoral care.
- Actively contribute to the co-curricular program and whole-school activities with enthusiasm.
- Collaborate supportively with all staff members.
- Exhibit a positive and adaptable attitude and willingness to go above and beyond.

In Return

We recognize that teaching can be demanding, and while we cannot eliminate all challenges, we strive to provide a supportive and enjoyable work environment.

- A setting where your professionalism is greatly valued, and we believe in empowering you to foster your personal and professional growth.
- Students who are highly motivated and eager to succeed.
- A beautiful campus with facilities accessible to staff outside of school hours.
- An opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of girls by delivering high-quality education, empowering them to reach their full potential and shape their futures.
