About This Role

The Opportunity

Downe House Riyadh invites applications from individuals interested in being considered for potential positions at our school for the Academic Year 2025 – 26.

Since its inception in September 2022, Downe House Riyadh has distinguished itself as the first premium British private all-girls' school (Boys Pre-School-Year 4) for ages 3-18 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The launch of a new institution is always an exhilarating phase, and as we approach our third year, Downe House Riyadh is proud to offer a world-class curriculum. Our authentic partnership with Downe House UK continues to flourish, drawing on over a century of experience from one of the UK's most esteemed all-girls' schools, consistently ranked among the top five in the country. The sharing of expertise is a cornerstone of our mission at Downe House Riyadh.

Nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Aqeeq in northern Riyadh, Downe House Riyadh's curriculum is thoughtfully tailored to meet the needs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, ensuring our students excel in Arabic language and Islamic Studies alongside a broad array of subjects. The school operates under the UK independent school framework, and we expect all staff to actively participate in and maintain a positive attitude towards co-curricular activities.

We plan to conduct interviews for shortlisted candidates based in the UK at Downe House UK on the 3rd or 4th of January.

The Position - Primary Class Teacher (KS1)

Downe House Riyadh is on the lookout for a passionate and dedicated Primary Class Teacher who excels in laying strong foundations in core subjects such as Mathematics, English, Science, and Humanities. In this role, you will be instrumental in nurturing students' curiosity, promoting critical thinking, and instilling essential skills that will support their long-term academic journeys, all grounded in the Downe House DNA Values.

With many students developing English as an Additional Language (EAL), you will introduce strategies that facilitate language acquisition along with academic progress, ensuring that every student can access and thrive in the curriculum. While specialist teachers cover Ministry of Education subjects, you will engage students with a well-rounded curriculum, employing creative and adaptive teaching strategies to cater to varied learning needs. If you are dedicated to inspiring a passion for learning, building confidence, and guiding students through their early educational experiences, we encourage you to join our committed team.

- Ensure excellent pastoral care.
- Actively contribute to the co-curricular program and whole-school activities with enthusiasm and commitment.
- Collaborate cooperatively and supportively with all staff members.
- Exhibit a positive and flexible attitude, with a willingness to go the extra mile.

In return

- We recognize that teaching can be demanding and intense; while we cannot fully eliminate these challenges, we strive to provide a supportive and pleasant work environment.
- A school culture where your professionalism is deeply valued, and we believe that empowering you fosters your growth and development.
- Students with high aspirations who are eager to succeed.
- A beautiful campus with facilities available to staff outside school hours.
