About This Role
Maternity Cover - Class Teacher Position
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a class teacher to join us in September 2026 for a one-year maternity cover.
Are you looking to work in a lively, welcoming school where students thrive in their learning and educators find joy in teaching? If so, we invite you to become part of our dedicated and nurturing team within our federation of two one-form entry schools.
We seek passionate, creative, and committed individuals who will excel in delivering high-quality teaching within an inspiring and innovative environment. As a member of our supportive team, you will benefit from collaboration across the wider federation while enjoying the intimate atmosphere of a smaller school.
The Squires Lane Learning Federation consists of two one-form entry schools in Finchley, North London: Manorside and Tudor. We also collaborate closely with Church Hill and Brunswick Park Primary Schools.
Our community is diverse, with students who genuinely embrace a love of learning. We provide a comprehensive and enriching curriculum both inside and outside the classroom, and our staff thrives on a strong culture of teamwork and support. You will have access to excellent internal and external professional development opportunities.
Our schools are guided by our core values, which go beyond mere slogans. We uphold Growth Mindset, High Standards, Integrity, and Kindness in our interactions with one another. We believe in nurturing the whole child and instill in them the principles of the Manorside or Tudor Way: Be Kind, Be Brave, Take Pride, Work Hard.
By working at either school within our federation, you will enjoy the advantages of a close-knit, one-form entry setting combined with opportunities to collaborate with fellow educators. This partnership not only enhances professional development but also supports your workload and overall wellbeing. We welcome applications from Early Career Teachers.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be committed to fostering the learning and development of all children.
- Embody our staff values of Growth Mindset, High Standards, Integrity, and Kindness.
- Design and implement engaging and meaningful lessons.
- Inspire and captivate students.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills in their interactions with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Serve as a role model with ambitious aspirations for both their students and themselves.
- Dedicate themselves to building character in alignment with the Manorside/Tudor Way: Be Kind, Be Brave, Take Pride, Work Hard.
To apply, please download and fill out an application form, then email it to Amanda Shipp at office@manorside.barnetmail.net. Should you wish to discuss the Squires Lane Learning Federation with one of our Heads of School or arrange a visit, please do not hesitate to reach out. We encourage potential applicants to come and witness the schools in action!
The deadline for applications is Wednesday, 22nd April, with interviews scheduled for the week commencing 27th April.
Squires Lane Learning Federation is committed to promoting equality and diversity, actively encouraging applications from Black and minority ethnic groups, which are currently underrepresented. The federation also prioritizes the protection and safeguarding of young individuals.
