About This Role

The Opportunity

Downe House Riyadh is welcoming applications from candidates interested in potential positions at our school for the Academic Year 2025 – 26.

Established in September 2022, Downe House Riyadh is the first premium British private all-girls’ school (Boys Pre-School-Year 4) for ages 3-18 in Saudi Arabia. The launch of a new school is always an exhilarating experience, and as we embark on our third year, Downe House Riyadh offers a world-class curriculum. Our authentic partnership with Downe House UK continues to flourish, benefiting from over a century of expertise, and our collaboration is invaluable. Downe House is recognized as one of the UK’s premier all-girls’ schools, consistently ranking among the top five institutions of its kind, and we take pride in the exchange of knowledge.

Situated in the vibrant neighborhood of Aqeeq in north Riyadh, Downe House Riyadh has adapted its curriculum thoughtfully to the Saudi Arabian context, ensuring our students excel in Arabic language and Islamic Studies, in addition to other subjects. The school operates within the framework of a UK independent school, and we expect all staff to actively participate in co-curricular activities with a positive attitude.

We plan to interview shortlisted candidates based in the UK at Downe House UK on January 3rd or 4th.

The Position - EYFS Teacher

We are on the lookout for a passionate and dedicated EYFS Class Teacher who is eager to lay strong foundational skills for learning within the UK EYFS Framework. In this role, you will be instrumental in nurturing students' curiosity, promoting critical thinking, and embedding essential skills that support their long-term academic success, aligned with the Downe House DNA Values. Ideal candidates will be experienced EYFS Practitioners who are excited to join a robust team of like-minded educators.

With a significant number of students developing English as an Additional Language (EAL), you will implement strategies that facilitate language acquisition alongside academic progress, ensuring all learners can engage with and excel in the curriculum. While specialist teachers handle Ministry of Education subjects, your role will involve providing a broad and balanced curriculum, utilizing creative and flexible teaching methods to cater to diverse learning needs. If you are dedicated to inspiring a love of learning, fostering confidence, and guiding students through their early educational experiences, we encourage you to become part of our committed team.

The Person

Please note that only female candidates will be considered, as Downe House Riyadh maintains an all-female working environment.

The ideal candidate will:
- Deliver well-planned, engaging, and creative learning experiences for students.
- Implement a broad, balanced, and relevant program using effective adaptive teaching strategies for all students.
- Set high expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils, promoting a growth mindset.
- Ensure excellent pastoral care.
- Actively participate in the co-curricular program and whole-school activities with enthusiasm.
- Collaborate supportively with all staff members.
- Maintain a positive and adaptable attitude and be willing to go the extra mile.

In Return

We recognize that teaching can be both demanding and intense; while we cannot eliminate these challenges, we strive to provide a supportive and enjoyable working environment.
- A setting where your professionalism is greatly valued, and we believe that empowering you fosters your growth and development.
- Students who are ambitious and eager to succeed.
- A beautiful campus with facilities available to staff outside of school hours.
- An opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of girls through high-quality education, enabling them to fulfill their potential and shape their futures.
