About This Role

Salary: SEN Sp Specialist Teacher for Social, Emotional and Mental Health - secondary schools

As a Trust we are looking to appoint a SEN Specialist Teacher for Social, Emotional and Mental Health, to further enhance the provision for our most vulnerable children, working across our secondary schools. You will be working closely with other experienced SEN Specialist Teachers, as well as external specialist services, including Educational Psychologists.

The key responsibilities for this post are as follows (a comprehensive job description and a person specification are both available):

  • To empower and enable schools within the Trust to meet the needs of children with SEND, helping to build capacity by developing knowledge, skills and understanding
  • To ensure that the special educational needs of children with SEND are met
  • To support families and partners in other agencies in a person centred, team around the child approach to ensure the needs of children with SEND are met and their outcomes improve
  • To promote Inclusion and the Arden Multi Academy Trust vision and philosophy
  • To engage with other services and colleagues within and beyond the Arden Multi Academy Trust to help ensure schools have the services and support they require to meet the needs of the children, young people and families they serve

We welcome applications from specialist teachers who may seek either a full-time or part-time position. While enabling you to enjoy the advantages of working across several of our schools, many of our specialist teachers find the increased consistency and sense of belonging that we offer appealing. You may also want some consistency in terms of employment to compliment your independent business. We acknowledge the significant impact our specialist teachers have on student outcomes; hence we may consider accommodating a request to maintain a teaching group in one of our secondary schools if desired by a candidate, but this is not essential. This presents an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated specialist teacher to positively influence our young learners within a growing multi-academy trust and contribute to our inclusion provision.

In return we can offer you:

  • A positive and innovative learning culture supported by pupils, staff, parents and governors
  • Enthusiastic pupils who enjoy learning and engage positively in all aspects of school life
  • Access to high quality continuing professional development and the opportunity for personal growth and development
  • Commitment to Middle Leader Development through:

- Middle Leader Cross Trust training, Midddle Leader progress meetings with Associate Headteacher and Executive Headteacher, Middle Leader support through highly effective SLT Line Manager

  • A collaborative and supportive attitude amongst staff which promotes a sense of teamwork and unity
  • A Senior Leadership team who is committed to promoting the best environment and outcomes for staff and pupils
  • Teacher Pension
  • Use of your own personal laptop
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Free on-site parking across all schools within the Trust

Please see the Job Description and Person Specification provided.
